Starting A YouTube Channel!

Today's post comprises of a very exciting announcements which I'm absolutely thrilled to be sharing with you at long last.

The announcement is that I'll be starting my very own YouTube channel, which feels crazy to type but I'm finally taking the plunge after literally years of watching and years of wishing I had the confidence to do it, too. Since launching my blog in March I've realised a lot of things, and one of the most important lessons is that if you want to do something you should try your best to not let anything hold you back. It's still very daunting but I'm 99% over the whole 'but what will people think?' and 'I wouldn't be good at it' doubts and can't wait to get started - as I mentioned before I've longed to start a YouTube channel since I was about 15, so this really does feel like such a long time coming and I hope that it'll be something that I grow to love and enjoy doing. My aim is for my channel to be, as this blog is, very much 'Meg Says'-centred; everything I have to say about anything.

I'm currently in the process of creating a decent beginners' setup and my goal is to start my channel before the end of 2014, if everything goes to plan. I honestly can't wait!

What are your thoughts on Meg Says heading to the world of YouTube?

  2. Our fancy schmancaaay lighting, I definitely didn't look like a little pro trying to put it together - instruction leaflets and screws flying all over the shop! So excited to start this *salsa dancing lady emoji*

  38. I also just started out on Youtube a couple of weeks ago. And I feel what you feel. I kept thinking, "why would people watch me if there are better videos out there?" I doubted myself alot, now I realized that I have to focus on doing what I love and just stop thinking about the negative outcomes.. Good luck on your channel.. Let's be Youtube friendsss :)

Just found your blog and lovin it so farr..
if you have a chance, i'll be ecstatic if you'd wanna check mines out :)

  39. Congratulations, that's so great! I felt the same way and I still do to some extent, but the brilliant thing about the Internet is that there's room for all of us and we shouldn't be discouraged just because there are a lot of people out there doing the same thing. That's amazing, well done :) I'd love to have a look at your channel, what's it called? Of course, I'd love to be YT pals! x

  42. Cool - Ive been thinking the same re a channel...except I hope to make videos to help recovery having trained at the Optimum Health Clinic. However one slight problem - Im not recovered yet! I see you got the camera and lighting ready! I found you guys thru the Daily Mail article - nice to see a group of friends pulling together with ME. I'll keep an eye out for the YT uploads. Steve (same from Twitter)

  43. That's great, I'd definitely watch your videos if you made them about helping recovery :) I'd like to talk about ME and raise awareness on my channel, I'm not medically trained in any sense though so I'd have to make sure it's clear that any advice I give is simply from the point of view of a sufferer. Brilliant, the article on Hayley was amazing, wasn't it? She's so brave :) thank you, I'd appreciate that! x
