I've been so let dow...I TOTALLY agree with you! I've been so let down my film adaptations in the past, to the point where I'm actually annoyed about how rubbish they are in comparison to the book. But I'm with you on this one, The Lovely Bones was incredible and they completely hit the nail on the head, it was exactly as I imagined it in the book and I wasn't let down in the slightest. Saoirse Ronan, she's amazing isn't she, I recently saw The Grand Budapest Hotel and was so happy when I saw her in it. :) Agreed - just great!Meg Sayshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05020262044885103695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7931583758905269229.post-43115782872761024832014-04-28T08:54:47.584+01:002014-04-28T08:54:47.584+01:00the lovely bones movie is literally the only movie...the lovely bones movie is literally the only movie in the history of the universe that i think was as good as the book. i am one of those snobby people too because books are ALWAYS better than movies, hands down, no exceptions. ever. this is the ONLY single movie i have ever watched and afterwards have just sat there like "...yes." i went out and bought it after it came out and have watched it multiple times since. the actress who plays susie is perfect, and it's just great. :)Gab & Goosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04666573369533576446noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7931583758905269229.post-6843771110644720502014-04-28T02:36:47.366+01:002014-04-28T02:36:47.366+01:00So good isn't it, I love anything with Steve B...So good isn't it, I love anything with Steve Buscemi in it. Did you ever watch Hocus Pocus when you were younger too? I couldn't work out where I knew Enid from for AGES then it clicked that the actress is the little sister in Hocus Pocus, I used to watch it every Halloween. I did, they're such a talented family! The Lovely Bones is amazing isn't it, I was wary of the film as usually I can't stand it if the book is beautiful and then they don't do it justice, but I loved both. I have read it and agree with you, a whole new level of emotion with that one - I liked the film too, but can't believe how drastically they changed the ending? N'aw you're welcome! xMeg Sayshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05020262044885103695noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7931583758905269229.post-7142911187982142452014-04-21T15:36:27.615+01:002014-04-21T15:36:27.615+01:00Ghost word is one of my favourite films ever! I ha...Ghost word is one of my favourite films ever! I haven't watched it in a while, probably going to have to now you've said about it! I loved the lovely bones so much too, I enjoyed the film too (did you know Reece Ritchie - Ray in the film is Lowestoft born and bred?) Have you read my sisters keeper? I read them at the same time and it was just too much emotion to handle!<br />Thanks for my little mention too Meg!
